Volunteers from the Prettyboy Watershed Alliance partnered with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay to plant over 1000 trees at Leister Park in Hampstead, MD.  A stream running through the 100 acres of former farmland comprising the park was targeted for the initial planting as its banks were eroded and treeless.  As the trees mature they will prevent future erosion and also use up nutrients rather than allow them to travel downstream to Murphy Run.
